Pesticide Bottle Disposal: What You Need to Know
Pesticide bottles are used to store agricultural and domestic chemicals and must be treated as hazardous waste. Even when empty, these bottles retain residue that can pose serious risks to health and the environment.
They must not be placed in kerbside recycling bins.
How to dispose of pesticide bottles
Triple-rinse eligible bottles and puncture them before disposal through an approved chemical recovery program such as DrumMUSTER. Never reuse these containers. For non-eligible or partially full bottles, contact your local hazardous waste facility.
